8 3/4" axle shaft end play setting

Hi! I'm a new member; this is my first post. Thanks for all the informative and interesting threads

My 68 shop manual says to back off the adjuster four notches to achieve a .013~.023" end play. The instructions in the replacement bearing kit (3683966) says four notches with a .005 to .015" end play. Which is preferable/correct?

05-15 is what ya want 8 would be perfect
