8 3/4 brake question

I was looking up shoes for the 8 3/4 which has 11' drums and saw
Rock Auto has some 11X3' shoes that came on cop cars. Currently it has 2 1/2' shoes will the 3' fit in the drum? The friction surface of the drum is 3". I didn't see any special drums for the 3" Thanks

I'd like to know too!! My opinion is they won't. I have 11x2 1/2 on my car and would like to do it if at all possible.

NOPE that was a HD option for towing and cop cars I recall.

I have 3" on a narrowed rear on altered chassis. The backing plates and drums came from a 1970 300 wreck. You may also find these on station wagons. Part of that 3" on the 2 1/2 drum is the part that tucks into the lip on the backing plate to keep debris and dirt out.
