This thought crossed my mind this morning while looking at an A-body 8 3/4 for sale on Craigslist.....

What is the flange to flange width on a 67-76 A body 8 3/4 compared to what would be in a 63-66 A body 8 3/4?

Talking backplate/bearing retainer flange. If anyone knows axle flange to axle flange, that would be nice too.

Figured I'd ask here first, lol.

Just measured mine 51 7/8'' most call it 52''. this is out of a 70 duster and is now in a 64 Dart

That sounds like a rear that was shortened to use BBP axles and retain the same overall length as a std SBP set up.

This right here is why we need a sticky tech section.

Could be, never know what ya got with used parts.

these measurements need to be in a sticky closed thread somewhere around here... the question is always coming up..
