8 3/4 gear swaps 489 741 742 cases

I have a 741 posi unit with a 2.73 gear I have a 489 case with a open 3.23 gear. Can any of these parts be swapped to make a 3.23 posi unit? can i use the 3.23 gears in my 741 case or my posi unit in the 489 case with the 3.23 already installed so i dont need to reset the pinion depth?? Any info would be great.

posi in 489 case yes
gears= no....those r case specific

Ya put that posi in the 489 and go. Only thing is the 489 might have a different size yoke.
