Hi,

i'm begining to look for a 8 3/4 rear end, and I have couple of questions.

Which yoke number I should look for? (489, 741 & 742 (i think), wich one is more common?)

Also I can have a 8 3/4 for A-body complete drum to drum, small bolt pattern, lock (don't know what unit thought, suregrip or...) with unknown gear number, for 650$cnd.I don't wich yoke number it is. The guy say it was running good when he removed it from the car. Do you think it is too expensive?

Also do you think that a combo 318(2bbl or 4bbl)/904 with a set of 3.23 gears with a suregrip, will be able to burnout (just curiosity)? :D :D :geek:

Thanks

If its a 489 or 742 thats a dam good price! If its a 741 get him down a bit. 741 is the weakest but if your only going to have a 318 behind it it will work just fine.

741 cases are plenty strong. Ive been beating the crap out of one for 3 years. No problems.
