Does anyone know the flange to flange width of a A-100 van rear. I need an 8 3/4 rear and thats the only one I can find. I think it is about the same size as the mid 60s B-body but am not for sure. The rear I have is toast the drivers side of the housing is eat out pretty bad where the axle slides in. Is it worth saving or would it be easier to slide a new rear end in. Its for a 73 Dart sport I have a b-body rear in it now. If the A-100 rear is no more than an inch or two wider it could work. What do you all think.

All measurements are from brake drum to brake drum:
1966-1972 A-Bodies - 57 1/8"
1962-1963 B-Bodies - 58 1/2"
1964-1967 B-Bodies - 59 1/2"
1970-1971 Imperials - 58 3/4"
1968-1970 B-Bodies - 60 1/8"
1970-1974 E-Bodies - 61 5/8"
1965-1969 C-Bodies - 61 3/4"
1965-1970 A100 Vans - 61 3/4"
1965-1966 Imperials - 62"
1967-1969 Imperials - 62 5/16"
1965-1971 D100 Pickups - 64"
1970-1971 C-Bodies - 63"
1971-1974 B-Bodies - 63"
1969 C-Body Wagons - 64 3/8"
1971-1973 B-Body Wagons - 64 3/8"
1970-1973 C-Bodies - 64 3/8"
1972-1974 D100 Pickups - 64 3/8"

Spring perch measurements between the two leaf-spring mounting pads can range from 43" to 47 1/2".

You could have a new tube end welded on. I'm sure there is a driveline shop or a race car fabrication shop somewhere in your area that could do it.

I am checking in to that at the moment but have had no luck finding anyone in the area. Thats the only draw back about living in the boonies when you need something done there is no one around to do it. I did some measuring and If I were to use the rear from the A100 I will only be adding about 5/8 inches on each side. In my case the tires will not stick out past the quarter. How will the wider track in the rear affect the handling. Also I can get the whole van for free so it just seems logical.
