8 3/4 sbp upgrade strength

Correct. I will be drilling my drums for the large bolt pattern as well.
If in the future I decide I need more brake I will switch to discs and shim accordingly.
New drums can be had for 30 bucks each. why bother.

Thanks for that .. yep, they would be Illegal cos everything is here!! So just gotta ring moser then to find out there price .. and does anyone know if dr diff axels are as strong as moser ?

I believe these are the Moser stock Abody length replacements for 10" X 1-3/4" small register brake drums....
Part # A30-CST-A45 - A-Body, 8 3/4" Rear Axle Shafts, Stock A-Body Drum Brake (Redrilled) -- 30 - Moser Engineering

I myself would not have a problem with the Dr's axle package. Tons of satisfied customers. Just MAKE SURE what you order IS what you want. Don't guess, especially at "long distance".

Do they sell a 10 X 1-3/4 with 4-1/2 BC small register drum now? I had to re-drill my new Centrics.

Nope. They’re all 5x4”.

I don’t know why anyone would buy new axles with the 5x4.5” bolt pattern and the axle flange offset for the 10x1.75” brakes. The SBP brake parts, especially the drums, have had supply issues. If you’re going to go BBP, might as well switch to the 10x2.5” brakes. Those brakes were on RWD cars until the late eighties/early nineties. Supply isn’t an issue and the parts can usually be sourced used for a reasonable price. No point buying new axles and redrilling the old drums.

And just to check what axel I have before I order ... here’s some pics of it(suppose you can never trust older cars - if people swapped things on them over the years..
