how far should the seal be driven in and where do I buy the tool to drive it in? thank you for your time. RR
sure. it's just something people do because that's a thing they picked up along the way from some gray beard or how their dad taught them. like how i only eat out of green dumpsters because my father only ate out of green dumpsters as his father and father's father did.^^^ excellent. Thank you! he did not pack the back side of the seal with grease to keep the spring from being dislodged when driven in which I had always thought was a good plan. is this needed?
Won't hurt anything if you grease them up a bit to be safe, but I've never had one throw off. Wish the pic showed what size that 3/4" drive socket is, let me look at when I was doing the Swinger or the '64 x 440's rear end... maybe I have one.OK I will let it slide & just be carefull
