8 3/4 sure grip help

[1968 signet]

started put my diff together and notice two small buttons maybe axle trush washers. that go in the middle of the sure grip, at the end of the axle, im not sure what there for, do i need them im using moser axle with green bearings. thanks for the help

no those are only needed for tapered roller bearings. green bearings are ball bearings

You don't need them with green bearings but save them cause you might be able to sell them. Some guys want to change their rearends back to stock bearings and need those.
