For anyone looking to ship an 8 3/4 rear end complete or separate pieces here are the weights I got from A and E-body rears.

All measurements are rounded up to the next whole pound.

NO packaging is included in these weights.

A-Body Weights
Housing, 52-5/8" wide - 40 Lbs
742 case with 2.76 gears and clutch style Sure Grip - 80 Lbs
1 - axle with 1/2" lug bolts, lug nuts and OE bearings, 27-7/8" - 16 Lbs
1 - 10" x 1.75" loaded backing plate - 10 Lbs
1 - 10" x 1.75" drum - estimate 12 Lbs (based on 10" front drum without hub)

E-Body Weights (worst case)
Housing, 56.5" wide - 42 Lbs
742 case with 2.76 gears and clutch style Sure Grip - 80 Lbs
1 - axle with 1/2" lug bolts, lug nuts and OE bearings, 30" - 20 Lbs
1 - 11" x 2.5" loaded backing plate - 12 Lbs
1 - 11" x 2.5 drum - 15 Lbs

Hope it helps

That’s close to what I got for an A Body 8.75. A little less for the SBP axles and drums

Side note:
1 - 14 x 5.5 SBP steel wheel - 18lbs
54.5 CL to CL OE drive shaft, no U-joints, no slip yoke, no vibration dampener - 11lbs

So about 196 pounds disassembled. Figure about 200-205 with all seals, gaskets and gear oil. Dana 60 of the same width and 35 spline axles is a little over 220.
