I have a 8 3/4 posi 3.55 gears 489 case the posi works great gears have slight whine $650 plus shipping

looks like a cone to me. to my knowledge clutch type only came in 741 & 742 cases and up to 69

granted, you can do some mixing and matching, but if it's OE then it should probably be cone.
