Looks like a torque tube to me,. That ,and the skinny wide-whites says forties-early fifties something-or-other to me. Not an 8 3/4.

Looks like a rear from a early fifty['s GM truck. It also looks like it has a bolt on rear cover too.

Fords products through 48 had a torque tube but they were banjo rear ends not third member.
