While cleaning a shelf in the garage I found a set of 8.5mm spark plug wires that were for a Ford Bronco that I used to own. I needed only the coil wire for a fix on the Bronco so I was wondering if I could use the 8.5mm wires on my Dart. The Dart is a 340 with electronic ignition, and everything else stock. The current wires are 7mm, so would the 8.5's be better or will there be any difference? Let me know what you think.

The additional diameter is in the insulation. Very unlikely that there will be any difference in the way the engine runs.

The more insulation is for ignition systems that have higher voltages and may induce current on wire next to them and may cause misreads on ignition systems.

there are some systems that say you need thicker wires, if yours is stoke it should be fine with the wire you have. But i guess you can use the thicker one later on when you need to replace yours.
