What is the going price for a 8.75 posi unit? gears are on it..but no pinion?

First it isn't called a "posi," because Mopar called it a "suregrip." However, its true name is a "limited slip."

To answer your question it depends on the type you're looking at. A cone type isn't worth as much as a Clutch type. So which Limited Slip unit are you looking to buy, Clutch or Cone (assuming its a factory unit and not an Aftermarket one)?

A brand new clutch type sure grip is aboutv $400 from Dr Diff.

In addition to what the others said the gear on it isn't worth 2 cents cause the ring gear and pinion are lapped in as a matched set. You can not mix them with ones from another set.
