Looking for some advice on rebuilding my 741, Open Diff, 8.75.
Currently has 3.55 gears. I am looking to upgrade to a sure grip and 3.91 gears. The car is a 1971 Dart with a mildly built 318. I have just about fried the stock peg leg 7.25. So it`s time to upgrade. I will be running this car down the strip.

Thanks in advance for any help.

what would you like to know?? dotordiff on ebay is a great source for parts...

why so high in the gears?? stay 3.55 or go 3.73 and get a matched converter...

and craigslist is the best place to find an SG, found mine with a case and all or 300 bucks

If you decide to buy a new Sure Grip I'd suggest you take a look at a Detroit Truetrac. They're a gear driven design. They don't have clutches or cones to wear out. They're silent in operation. Supposed to grab harder the harder you work them & they don't require any special gear lube. Not cheap but if I was buying new I think it's what I'd get.
