8.75 Sure Grip Spline Alignment Help

I know this question has been posted before, but didn't see a response.

Rebuilt my 742 (Clutch Style) sure grip and aligned both sets of splines. After running the car, pulled axles and now the splines seem to be misaligned. Can't get the axles into the second set of splines.

Is there a way to realign without tearing the entire third member apart again?

I had this problem with my 489 case. I got the axle into the first set of splines then used a steel bar in between the studs to turn the axle and outer set of splines while pushig on the axle. I think i had the trans in park to keep the yoke from turning. Hope this helps you, it worked for me and I'm not that lucky of a guy with that stuff that could mean more work or money LOL

wigsplitter74 - Thanks, tried that earlier with a small pry bar. Will use a bigger bar tomorrow before resorting to tearing the third member out again...
