Im going to replace my small yoke on my 8.75, for a 7290 or 1350......is it a simple as unbolting and bolting in the new one? Not shimmed or anything?

I realize some are 10spline vs 29spline. Just never had a 8.75 3rd member apart......:toothy8:

It might be easy, then it might not.

If the new yoke puts more preload on your pinion bearings, that's not good.

Wouldn't the diameter of the u joint be bigger and not fit the driveshaft?

..........U should always use a new nut..........replace the seal...........if its a 489 case u need a new crush sleeve then have to set the pinion bearing preload by crushing the sleeve while torking the nut, u r then setting rotational tork...........go in small incriments as the preload sneeks up pretty quick.........shoot for 15lbs of rotational tork....u check this with an inch pounds tork wrench.........741+2 u just need to set the rotational tork...ofcourse new seal....kim..........u also need the appropriate u joint..........

Thanks fellas, I dont have the driveshaft yet, was waiting to get this straightened out first.
