That has an A body tail shaft, so it was rebuilt with a different case from a B body, the original case probably had a ear broke off of it?

Yep,,,musta been an old swap years ago,,ive had the trans for close to 30 years in my shed,,finally dug it out and had it rebuilt to use it in my car,,and no sooner did i get it rebuilt,,my original trans resurfaced,,,
