833 od trans ratio ??

With a 308 low gear where does that put me with a 323 out back? Same on the o/d side ? I am guessing about 355 1st and about 300 high gear ?? Any of you numbers guys want to shed some light on this ?? Aj?? Thanks Mark.

I think a 3.08 first from a regular 2.66 first makes the 3.23 like a 3.73. and a .7? overdrive makes the 3.23 like 2.33

Truck and car are different on the O/D end IIRC.

I want to say one is .73 and the other is .79.

I think first is 3.09, and od is .71 or .73

Yep, car OD trans have a 0.73 fourth gear. For me, I'm going from a 904 to an 833OD with 3.23 gears. The new ratios will make 1st with the manual the equivalent of 4.11s with the auto, 2nd the equivalent of 3.73s, and fourth like 2.35s. 3rd stays the same.

1975 thru 1987 833 Overdrive:

1st - 3.09:1
2nd - 1.67:1
3rd - 1:1
4th - 0.73:1 (Trucks used a 0.71:1 fourth)
