833 Output Shaft Yoke Seal Question

I have seals with no hole in the rubber and some with the hole.
Hole goes up, or hole goes down?
Lets out water, oil, vent???
Use the style with no hole???
Just looking for some advice.

Really not much difference. Use the one with the hole first.

Do you mean the tailshaft vent?

Thanks, if I don't hear anymore ideas, it's going to face down.
My tail shaft housing has a vent on the top.

The ones without a hole are older design?

I'm not sure. I have used both without problem.
