Is the final drive ratio on a 833 1 to 1?

Yes it is. 4TH gear 1to1. There was on OD one to. It was still a 4 speed just had a wider gear set and 4TH was OD a little.

Yep. The overdrive units used 4th gear for 3rd (1:1) and what used to be 3rd gear for the OD ratio. That's why the front shift arm is upside down on the overdrive trannys.

I think the OD 4th gear is .73 to 1.
