I am going to put a 90 degree adapter on my 340 and was wondering what the torque specs are so I do not break off the bolt. Thanks for your input!

50ft lbs is spec, but the spec sounds over the top, just like the torque specs in some manuals on a rocker shaft that frequently break bolts.

Run 30ft lbs, see if it seals. Filters seal by hand with a good grip and elbow grease. 35 is what the pump to block two bolts are at. Factory rod to cap stud nuts are 45, if that gives you any inclination as to how tight it really needs to be.

If its one of the original cast iron ones, you wont break it, tighten that sucker good. i would also suggest using some right stuff to make sure it wont leak

Ya you would have a hard time breaking that lol. When I first fired up my 360 I forgot to tighten up that bolt oil poured , just about had a heart attack, shut he down crawl under and tight it up,and back to break in time.
