904 dipstick sizes?

Is a 904 slant 6 dipstick and tube the same as a V8? I know it fits cause i have it on my 318. Came off a slant 6 904.

If you use the dipstick and tube together it should read correctly.

Cool. Just asking because my transmission and torque converter were bone dry and it took 11 quarts and is still low. Transmission has a deep pan and after market tyranny cooler. I guess it just needs more fluid. Thanks.

Remember to check it running in neutral while warmed up!

Ok, I'm having a hard time reading the dipstick. In nuetral I check it and it's bone dry. I add fluid and try to check it and it's all over the back but not on the front. I'm thinking it's the residual fluid from pouring in. This is the 12th quart I've added to a new transmission. Could it really need more?

Also after 11 quarts it read full after sitting all night in park.

It will read higher after sitting over night cause Mopar trannys have what is called converter drain back. Kim

Roger. I put 12 and checked warm in neutral and was at the add 1 pint mark. So I guess it was thirsty.
