904 new shifter help

I have a 904 auto and 318 in the 65 Barracuda. so the orig. cable shifter set up is useless.

I have a used Mr.Gasket shifter with the twin loop/pull lockout for the R and Park - but Im missing some attachement hardware.

to keep things simple, what is the recommend easiest / cleanest shifter and install?

lining things up, it looks like the cable should exit the tunnel on the passenger side, loop around and come back on the dirvers side. its that right?

My cable is just to the passenger side of center and loops to the linkage.

I did drill a small hole in the pinch weld by the bellhousing and used tie wire to keep it away from the header

The easiest thing is to get a stock shifter and console from 66 and later that’s what I did with mine
