I have my trans out of the barracuda and have it apart. I have a glazed front 1 3/8" semi rigid band and it needs replaced. It has a 4 clutch direct drum and a 3 clutch foreward drum and was wondering if that was enough for a street driven 325 hp 340. I think I can buy thinner steels and clutches to get an extra one in each drum if needed. What type of front band should I get, a flex or rigid? Can I put a wider band on a 4 clutch drum?
The bands and clutches have about 600 miles them since being replaced so there in good shape.

I think what you have is fine for a street driven car Bob. You can get a flex band cheap. BTW most shops don't replace the bands if they are decent when they overhaul the trans. If you can get a 4.2 kickdown lever then change that, if not the MP 5.0 lever will do just fine. It will increase the holding power of the band and help keep it from slipping.
