904 tranny

I have a 66 cuda with a slant six. I have found a 273 motor. The tranny in my car is a 904 will the v8 bolt up to the tranny without changing anything. Also the v8 has a 4 speed out of a truck would that be good for my car? low gears and all.

The trannies are different. while the insides are the same, the bell housing is different. As far as the 4 speed goes, it would depend on the gears. For that I am not sure.

904 tranny bellhousings do not come off. Have to change the whole tranny. I picked up a 904 v8 tranny for 100.00 on craigslist before.
