904 trans question

Did the 904 only come with small blocks and /6's? How do you tell the difference between them. The reason I am asking, is that there is one for sale locally and I want to make sure it's the right one. Thanks.

Here's hoping you want to know the difference between a /6 and smallblock 904. With the bellhousing facing you the starter mount will be roughly 2 o'clock on a slant tranny, 5 o'clock on the smallblock. Never seen a 904 behind a big block. Hope this helps.
