Well folks, I have the "new" to me carb all cleaned up! Thanks for the cleaner suggestions. I ended up getting the one gallon with small basket from NAPA. 20 bucks, only wished it was large enough to submerge the carb body into? Oh well a somewhat deep pan did the trick and I did soak all the small stuff. With a brush and a about two hours of time the thing looks brand new! Ordered a kit that will be here Tuesday so I am almost there.

I also purchaed a 1 inch spacer for inbetween the carb and intake, As the secondary butterflies would not open all the way. It's a four barrel stock cast iron intake from a 68 cuda I bought a year and a half ago from a fellow BOG member. Looks like everything will work out nice. I will keep ya'll posted.

BTW the Carter carb is SO EASY to rebuild and it's simple operation lends itself to even a first timer like me.

Now does anyone have a suggestion for a intake gasket set? Felpro? etc..

John B.
