working on a 98 dakota 5.2 magnum.runs great, then it acts like its running on 7 cyls.or 6. i just tuned it up.new cap, rotor, wires plugs.and oil change.it was already having this problem before i did anytthing to it.i was thinking clogged fuel filter ? bad pump?anyone?

Does the idle fluctuate and is using oil...If so the bottom of the intake is leaking ...Real common problem...

If it dies after its warmed up and doesn't throw a code its usually the camshaft position sensor. The cam position sensor is under the distributor cap.

You may need to also do a compression check to rule out more serious internal problems! Also check the fuel rail pressure.

I have seen the cam gear on the distributor shaft wear out and the rotor spins out of balance causing the firing order to be off

never found out guy hasnt got back with me.he has another vehicle...
