will a 999 bolt up to a 340 and fit in a 68 dart with out cutting tunnel up?
Yep. A 999 is physically identical to a 904.

late 70's to late 80's f bodies, vans & trucks. It looks like a 904 but has a blue wire going into the trans on the ds
This is the #pk4058398 on a tranny that I have in the garage. I believe it is a lockup 999, is that correct?
Sadly mine doesn't show up in that list & mine had the 5 clutches
I wouldn't lose any sleep over it... 5 clutches are good no matter what the number on the pan rail says. 8)
Plus it'll guarantee you can use a trans-go kit.
OK,now I just need to find a front/direct drum, rear drum & a rear support for mine. Anyone have it laying around?

I installed a Trans-go TF-2 kit in my A999 3 weeks ago.
There are 2 81 Imperials and 1 85 diplomat in a yard near me. I'm debating robbing the trans's from them
