A&A Transmissions manual valve body

I am running an A&A reverse patter manual valve body that I bought about 5 years ago in my Duster. It works fine, but will not downshift to first gear unless the car is at a complete stop. Is this a normal characteristic and if so, can it be modified to allow the downshift?
The car is use for autocross, so the ability to downshift is required.

My guess is that it doesn't have low band apply in manual low. I would suggest chatting with Nick Allison from A&A, he is always happy to assist. I don’t know if he is on this forum but he is on “mopar 727 transmissions” on Facebook, or you can call A&A tomorrow.

If this is the case you will need a different valve body.
