in the porcess of removing my driver side a arm, i stripped the hole where the ball joint screws in. so i found a replacement one at the local unk yard for only 20 bucks! The problem is that i cant get the ball joint out of the replacement out. Ive really torqued on it and even heated it with a torch and it still wont budge

even tho i am using a pair of chanel locks because the head is too big for any sockets i have, is there anything you guys can suguest?????

its a 1970 340 duster

I got a suggestion go to Year One or the Paddock and buy a ball-joint socket.
They are specially made for removing and installing upper ball-joints.

thanks for the reply

thats what i was thinking, but its 55 bucks at year one and its safe to say im "16dusterandbroke"

my dad suguested a big cresent wrench?

try clamping the joint, where the socket would grab , in a vise and use the arm for leverage to try unscrewing it. and make sure its not a left handed thread

i put the ball joint in the vise, hired my father to help, and 10 min later we were screwing it out. Thanks guys you saved me from a nervous breakdown haha
