Having trouble figuring out pitman arm install
Not sure which 1 of 4 spline alignment positions to use. The box did not come with a pitman arm
Any ideas?

There should be only one way it goes on.

But...

Turn the gear box lock to lock

Count the number of turns.

Position the gear box on the bench (or install in car) so it is in the as installed on the car position

Rotate the gear to one lock and return 1/2 the total number of turns

You should be able to install the piston arm in the correct location and the splines should line up correctly.

It should be pointed in the same direction as the input shaft if you follow the above method.

box has a case seam
turn the input shaft until you feel the middle and align the closest sector shaft master spline with the case seam.

box is in the middle

fit to car and the pitaman can go on with the cross linkage and it will be obvious how
