If it is an OD transmission, it has the 3-4 shift lever on the wrong way. It should be "upside down" compared to the 1-2 shift lever and it does not appear to be.

Feel free to come check it out....
I got it with a bunch of parts....
Gentleman passed away.

If you can post the numbers on the machined pad on the passenger's side of transmission, that would help. It should start out "P833.........." of some such.

If it is than like RRR pointed out, the 3-4 shift lever is up side down. On a OD trans 3rd gear is the clutch input shaft. Over Drive is behind the input shaft or where 3rd gear is in a 833 4speed. The first OD trans starting in 1975 were cast iron cases, but by 1977 they changed to aluminum case.
If it is a OD 833 the front bearing retainer will measure 5.125 inches where it goes into the bell housing.

Sure would like to see input retainer size and number on side plate, it would definitely help you in selling it, cast iron OD trans are more desirable then aluminum, shifter is what's throwing everyone off, looks like an F body shifter, but it should be aluminum case by the time they came out
