I have this A Body OEM 8.75 housing. I was going to use this on my car but ...
I have cleaned and media blasted it so it's ready for paint. It's been hanging around my garage and I used as wall art in my office for a while. I don't have all the flat sided studs for the 3rd member and none for the backing plates.
I'm asking $400 plus shipping or you can pick it up in Chico CA 95926

Why is this end silver colored?

Is the housing an OEM A Body housing or a cut down B, C, E or truck/van housing?

I found this under a '73 Duster at the Pick & Pull. As best I could tell, brake fluid had been dripping for a long time on the driver side and had created a little channel. I filled it with weld and ground it down. You can maybe see from the heat transfer on the inside how far around the channel went. The passenger side was not harmed.

Ok thanks.

Btw the channel you noticed is a forming defect. It's on many housings. 3 out of 4 I have. Cass at Dr Diff says it's not an issue.

I haven't seen that many 8.75 housings and it looked like a defect so I filled it. Made me feel better. It is an original A Body housing. I would probably do it again even knowing it came from the factory.
