will 28" axles fit in a a-body rear housing or will they need to be cut down, and does anyone know spline length on the stock axles if I need to cut the ones I found down to stock a-body length

8 3/4" axle shaft lengths measured from the tip of the splined end
to the outside of the flange:
A BODY
'66-'72= 27 11/16"

Are these aftermarket? Maybe if you use green bearings and pull the spacer in the middle they will work fine. Some require this.

Factory one's are 27 11/16 with the thin brakes. When increasing the axle standout for 2 1/2" brakes they will measure 28".

I am trying to get correct measurements, what do you mean axle standout is there another measurement I need other than end of splint to flange to get the standout?
thanks

they are Dutchman axles

There is a 5/16" difference between the factory axles and the (2 1/2" brakes) B-body etc. axles , measured from the flange face to the bearing step.
