A body exhaust

Originally, Did A body cars typically come with 2” exhaust or 2-1/4 ? How many of you have 2 “ exhaust ?

Added 2/14" from stock manifolds (with FlowMaster 40s) on my '71 Dart GT 318.

Seems like a lot of them were 2 1/4" on the front half, with 2" tailpipes. You could even find stuff like that on big block B-bodies.

Most likely, 2 1/4 originally. Based on the stock manifold collector inside diameter. 2 1/4 just appears to be very large to be originally the correct size for a run of the mill cheap production model car. You know, an entry level 4 door model with 318 for example. But, I agree with you.
