A-Body Remote Mirror Removal

How do you remove the mirror(glass portion) from it's mounting base with the attached adjusting wires?

It's attached with adhesive. I used a propane torch to gently warm the glass until the adhesive released it's grip. It doesn't take too much with some gentle prying at the edge of the glass. A blunt object through one of the holes in the back would probably work too.

If you want to remove the mirror, holder, and control wires as a unit, you have to remove the control cables from the joy stick control....a very touchy procedure. The cables are pinched pretty good on the control and if you break something, you may be looking at getting another mirror assy.
