I am not sure, I think the earlier A bodies anchored the gas tank differently, the one I need has two tabs under the sump, where the straps anchor.

That is true, but you can weld your own tabs to the bottom of the spare tire well for the J-bolt mounts pretty easily.

i have a tire well piece, cut around the top edge at trunk floor. Out of a 71 Scamp. PM me if you need one.

Thanks for all of the help, buddy and I are going to fab a bottom piece and weld the tabs from my old bottom ( the cars ) to it, driver car only, will probably be better and stronger than original.
