ok, on my 74 slant 6 valiant i've got an A/C condenser that is pretty well busted. I traced the line from the compressor and right where the line first meets the condenser in front of the radiator is not a small crack but a full on break in one of the tubes.

My question is, with this break has all the charge left my A/C system? and does this mean I can take it all apart safely?

Probably a dumb question, but I don't feel like blowing my hand off.

I'll get some pictures to show you all what I'm talking about.

Even if it had the freon in it an a/c system at rest has no more pressure in it than an air compressor and a whole lot less volume. If you wanted to make sure you can just crack a line loose.
