A/C heater box

The engine I put in doesn't have the a/c parts on the engine, but the a/c heater box is still in the car, will the heater and defrost still work or do I have to get a non a/c heater box?

LOL of course. The heater core has noting to do with the A/C.

I am in the same situation, sort of. I took all of the AC parts out of my car, but kept the heater box that came in the car. We are just sealing off the AC vent on the box and keeping the heat connected.
