A couple of questions about TQ

First of all, what is the difference between an automatic and manual based carbs? Is it just a linkage for the lockdown? I want to make sure I get this right before I buy anything.

What years would you consider the best castings? Or rather when did the emissions strangling begin?

Usually 1 size bigger primary jets in the manual carbs. 1980 and up had lots of emission junk. Any 1972-79 will be pretty good. Kim

I bought a '74 off a 440. I lucked out in that it had no cracks or bends and the throttle shaft doesn't wobble.
