I need help (pictures would be great) on how to install the A-Pillar weatherstripping inside the door jam. This is teh long skinny weatherstripping that butts up against the wing window and forms a seal between the wing window and the inside of the A-Pillar.

It's on a 1969 Barracuda Convertible.

Thanks for the help.

I should have a bunch of pictures of when I took apart my 68 Dart convert. They are on my home computer though. I'll try to remember and look tonight for you.

I use just a touch of soap to lubricate the rubber. The outside has a notch in it that fits into the chrome retaining strip the back side just pushes into the grove and locks it in.

OK, I'm pretty sure this is the piece you're talking about. These are from my Dart...hopefully your Cuda is the same.

It looks like the outer A-pillar stainless goes on first. This is of the passengers side.

Then the stainless weather stripping channel goes on. There is a foam seal between the body and the stainless weather stripping channel. This is of the drivers side.

The weather stripping should be molded to the inside shape of the stainless channel. The weather stripping should just snap into place.

There is one philips head screw at the top. The screw goes through the weather stripping into the large outer stainless piece that covers the top corner of the windshield frame.

If this isn't what you wanted let me know.

That's exactly what I am looking for. One question - how does the weatherstripping stay in place all the way down the a-pillar? Is it glued to the stainless outer molding and a-pillar?

I think it is supposed to be molded so that it snaps into the stainless piece. I know some reproduction weather stripping doesn't fit like it should. On my Challenger, the weather stripping around the side of the roof is supposed to just snap into place.(no fasteners) The repro weather stripping would just fall out of the channel. I had to glue it in place. Maybe you'll have to do the same thing. I'll see if I can find the weather stripping and have a closer look at it.

I think I see my problem. I don't have the SS channel that the weatherstripping fits into. All I have is the outer SS windshield molding that screws into the A-pillar. Anyone have a picture of the SS channel that the A-pillar weatherstripping fits into?

Anyone know where I can get the weatherstripping channel that runs the inside of the A-Pillar? It holds the weatherstripping that seals the A-pillar and the wing window.

Found the A-pillar weatherstripping SS channels in the garage. Ready to be installed. Thanks for the pictures Burdar.
