I'm in the process of nearing the end of my 46RH swap and was contemplating a driveshaft loop install. I'm not sure if this would even be viable or really recommended safety wise but thought I'd ask.
I was thinking about fabbing my own driveshaft loop. The A508 has it's original crossmember transmission casing mounting 2 bolt boss on the bottom of the overdrive case where the original spool mount bolted. I know I could fab something, maybe out of channel stock, to bolt to that boss on the case and run along the yoke/u-joint to a driveshaft hoop. I've seen lots of pics and ideas but everything ties to the frame, floor or reinforcements. I haven't seen or heard of anyone doing anything like using that mount boss.
I'm thinking it def wouldn't be as strong but for basically a street car would it be adequate?...and it is even something that could be considered safety wise?
Thanks, Brian
