a833 shift problems

a great big thanks to wayne in brewers for the help and advice,have had shift problems from day one of owning car,ive improved things along the way and today found out the ball is missing on reverse detent lol:sign6: awaiting a ball, wondering if this not helping with gear selection, its only when going into 2nd causing probs and only when giving car a bit of beans............
