A833 slip yoke problem/driveshaft

-
Funny , but FWIW when I exploded my 833 I bought another stock A body one , replaced everything and was ready to go but for some reason I was having the same issue. I could only get the slip yoke about an inch into the tail shaft. Drove myself nuts wondering what it was. I spoke to Dan at Brewers , pretty much explained to me there was something hitting internal and open it up and grind it down. I removed the transmission and took it to my local shop and explained the situation. Next day he called me up and said it was exactly as explained. I installed the transmission and the yoke slipped in like butter and has been good since. Not saying that was the issue but just wanted to share my experience if it helps at all.

Wow, I should know in a few hours, the yoke is out for delivery. I'd hate to have to pull the transmission back.

looking back at this yoke, the hopefully bad one, it's really rough on the splines. I remember looking at the splines on the output shaft, I hope I would have noticed and problems with it. I admit it was quite dirty, but cleaned up pretty well. Again, just a few more hours :BangHead:

Didn't see the barrel diameter measurement pic before. Looks too big. It should have a 1.558" od barrel.

Seems to fit just fine, turns in the new bushing I installed. If it were larger it wouldn't go in right? I'm going with it~

oh, when I had the yoke off, I was able to manipulate the yoke into the tailshaft housing, felt like grit, but very very tight, but would turn easily, just not slide.

I hope so. I am referring to the one that doesn't fit.

The day is good, started off with a full refund on the Brewers yoke, shipping and all. I think that is very fair. I left them a 5 star review and good write up;) It was just an unfortunate that they got a cheap yoke.

I always wait to leave feedback. Sometimes I don't like doing it, but that's the only leverage you have.
