We are wanting to build a big block Dart 67-69,man trans, and starting to collect parts, are there different length tailshaft housings for the 833? Helped a friend build a Ford w/toploader and realized they use various tailshafts depending on the body series.

I don't think there are different lengths, only a different mounting place for the shifter for each body type but they do make adaptors to place the shifter correctly if you can't locate the correct tailshaft.

A-body 4 speeds are shorter than B/E body 4 speeds. They also come in ball and trunion '64/'65 small yoke and large yoke. There is also O/D units from the seventies. You are after a large yoke (727) trans for a big block.

Thanks for the responses,I found info on google with specs and pics, have a better idea what I"m looking for. JC
