One of the things I would like to do down the road with my slant Fish is swap out the 3 on the tree for an A833 four speed on the floor. How involved is this procedure? I know that I would need a different steering column, as well as cut a hole in the floor for the shifter. Does the A833 require a transmission hump to be welded in or is there enough room without one? Thanks for any and all input.

Do a search on the forum. It's practically the same as doing an auto to 4 speed swap except you get to save a little money and time since you already have the pedals.

Depending on you bell housing,if you don't have the dual pattern on yours, you'll need to get that as well. I've seen the four speed conversion without the floor hump and it looks hacked. It looks much cleaner with the hump and the carpet contours to it. :thumrigh:

I'm doing an auto to 4 speed swap on my 65 Dart wagon - you definitely need the hump & steering column to look right.
