I see that some A999 transmissions came behind v6 cylnders, so does the bellhousing from the v6, fit a small block v8?

Edited-

No. Who said the A999 came behind a slant? I've never seen one.

I believe truck v6 and small block v8 bellhousings are the same pattern but I've never seen a A999 behind a v6. As far as I know v6's found in cars from the era the A999's were made were front wheel drive vehicles and they had a transaxle setup. The only rear wheel drive v6's were trucks starting in the late 80's and they used A500 transmissions. I'm not 100% sure on this but am reasonably sure I'm right. If someone else knows different please correct me.

Tracy, your "reasonably sure" is better than most anybody's "I know for a fact".

You ain't missed nuthin.

They are kind of a pain in the you know what.
Tapered roller bearings on transfer shafts that have to be adjusted like you would have to do a pinion preload.

They look just like wheel bearings.
