I was tired of the over priced low quality re-pop shift boots out there for the A-body. Mine disintegrated way too fast. I happened to have a spare B body bezel which is slightly larger than the A body unit but doesn't require the sub-retainer and trim ring. So I did some measuring and came up with the 70s Chevy 4X4 boot that only costs $20. Seems like the last time I priced the B body bezel it was cheap too. You have to drill a couple of extra holes but so what. It works perfectly.

Good idea looks good too. I purchased an aftermarket shift boot, cant remember where I go it but the material is completely different than the original, also its slightly textured and way thinner than my original. It's also turned chalky in the last couple years, it's maybe 3 yeas old. Hopefully someone will make a quality one eventually.
